For this reason Jesus had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways, he does great things beyond our understanding.;He says to the snow, “Fall on the earth,” and to the rain shower, “Be a mighty downpour.;So that all men he has made may know his work, he stops every man from his labor.;The animals take cover, they remain in their dens. The tempest comes out from its chamber, the cold from the driving winds. The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen.
For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
[The Lord] says;It is too small a thing for you to be my servant;to restore the tribes of Jacob;and bring back those of Israel I have kept.;I will also make you a light for the Gentiles;that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.
Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.
